Coltivare Restaurant Build Out
Coltivare is an Ithaca-based restaurant and culinary school-in-one, committed to promoting farm-to-table-dining and supporting local farmers.
Rocco Design +Build was brought in to build all of the finish carpentry elements, many of them custom, as well as design and create the wet bars, a wine-tasting classroom, wine storage, custom doors, custom seating, and perform all the tiling. We also created more than 20 custom barn wood-clad and tin paneled canopies with recessed lighting.

Gimmee! Coffee Redesign
As a reward for having weathered the pandemic, Ithaca-based coffee shop Gimme! Coffee, is brewing up a whole menu of welcome design changes for their State Street location. RDB designed, and is currency fabricating, custom curved “floating” wood countertops, benches, stools, and other furniture elements, the second phase of a larger renovation to enhance the in-person experience of this beloved cafe. Earlier in the year, RDB bored picture-window openings in the location’s center wall, helping to double the cafe’s seating capacity.
Bike Bar Build Out
The owner of Old Goat Gear Exchange, a beloved outdoor and sports apparel shop in downtown Ithaca, wanted his next business to blend his love of cycling and sports with another one of his passions: craft brews. Bike Bar is peppered with cycling-themed materials and featured a bar top with inlaid bike gears. Rocco Design + Build demo'd the space, built custom cabinetry, shelving, and furniture using salvaged and reclaimed wood.
Cornell University eHub Build Out
Managed by Entrepreneurship at Cornell, the university's division devoted to promoting student business pursuits, the eHub locations provide a place for student entrepreneurs to collaborate and access technology. For this location in Collegetown, Rocco Design + Build provided construction and furniture fabrication services. As is the case with many institutional projects, we navigated the interests of multiple stakeholders, helping to define a unified vision. In the service of the University's industrial aesthetic, we welded metal elements with the wood furniture, and built a custom staircase with threaded metal railings.
